Umm, Wednesday? Not sure exactly how that happened! There's just been a lot going on- I've had a super busy work week so far, which means I've stayed as chill as possible otherwise. Oh but I did make time to get some pumpkins, obviously.

Let's talk about this pin!? I always want everything that ban.do makes, but I saw this pin (and immediately thought of this Lonely Island song) and had to have it. It's perfect! I really do like sports, by the way, and I don't care who knows! I also collect pins and it's getting out of control.

A skirt + trainers can very quickly go into 80's secretary territory, but I think this turned out ok!

Overall I think the pin tied this girly/sporty outfit with a bow- Superga trainers I've been living in, simple gray crewneck sweatshirt that everyone needs, orange pleated skirt out of retirement in my closet (there are surprisingly a lot of similar options available right now so I guess it's still in style {one / two / three}), and yes it was brisk enough to need a jacket on this day! OMGFALL

Tonight I'm going to see one of my favorite bands (since high school!), Sherwood. Here's a playlist of their very best (imho.) I hope you're having a great week!

Pink Clog Warm-Up

I’m putting the finishing touches on my 10 Essential Shoes post (and I have GOT to work on that title. Is that grammar terrible orr..?) and it will come as a surprise to no one that clogs are coming in hot as #1. Should I rebrand again to The Clog Blog? Blog de Clogs? Blog ‘o Clogs? All working titles.

This !pink! pair was all over my blog this Summer, but I think these pictures were from the first time I wore them? The Swedish Hasbeen site was having a fantastic sale, and my sister texted me about it (always looking out for her little sis!) Naturally I had a existential crisis about how I really should be buying a black/brown/tan pair, but really wanted a pink pair. What’s that about, anyway? Can’t any color be a neutral color if you just go for it?

Spoiler alert: I totally went for the pink clogs and I have no regrets (this being the second time that this has happened with a pink pair of shoes) there’s a lesson in there for me, and for everyone: life is short. And these clogs are the f-ing business.

And this outfit was definitely a warm up, see how I was like, subtle blouse? Check. Oft-neglected during the Summer boyfriend jeans? Check. But by the time I wore these on my 26th birthday, I was like gingham and clogs hellllll yeah.

This is actually the last set of photos by Adriane from earlier this year I still hadn't posted (just in time for her to be back from maternity leave on Monday ;)

Is this the least possible theme-y outfit I could have posted on Friday October 13th? Whoops! I did FINALLY come up with the perfect Halloween name on Twitter (with a lot of help, halfway through the month...) Happy Spooky Friday y'all!

Jumpsuit Tuesdays

I state my case for why Tuesday is the worst day of the week:

Well, it's mostly just because it doesn't have anything going for it.

Monday you can grumble about it being Monday and talk about your weekend, Wednesday is hump-day and the week is halfway over again anyway, Thursday is little Friday and usually a great day, Friday needs nothing else than just being Friday and it's amazing, Saturday is the best day of the week, the possibilities are endless, and Sunday has the Sunday Scaries but is still generally a great day. Which leaves Tuesday feeling like an empty day!

To be honest, I have found myself in a longer than normal season of what I call "the blahs", and maybe this is a self-fulfilling prophecy now, but Tuesdays have been the worst. I've really been trying to do something on those days to make them extra special- wear something I love, make fun plans after work, start my day with a special coffee, spend extra time on my make-up, call someone I love, take a fun dance class etc. etc.

That's how this Jumpsuit Tuesday was born! We're rapidly nearing the end of jumpsuit season, and I'm starting to go through my Summer clothes with a fine-toothed comb before I make the switch and bring out my Winter clothes, but this chambray jumpsuit isn't going anywhere.

Also i KNOW it looks like I stuck my ankles in a garbage disposal...this is still the remnant of my chigger bites from camping this Summer (I KNOW.) I also hit my shin on the corner of a bed frame so hard I was seeing stars, that's what that other cute scar is from!

What do you do when you find yourself in a season of "the blahs"? I know that everyone feels this way sometimes. Please share with me, I would love to hear!!

Weekend Update: Nashville Oktoberfest & Oh Wonder

Monday, October 9

Nashville lifestyle blog, Priya the Blog, October Weekend Update, Knoxville, Oh Wonder concert, Bijou Theater Knoxville, Tennessee

Hi friends! So I'm a little embarrassed to tell you that one of my small goals for the month is to do some "basic bitch Fall activities"; just because, this is my absolute favorite time of year, and I want to make the most of it!

This weekend was just PRIME October and super festive. Saturday morning I ran the Nashville Oktoberfest 5K! All things considered- the training I actually ended up doing, the fact that I haven't run a 5K since 2011, the effort I felt like I put in during the race (um...it was really hard), I'm pleased with the result! It was kinda fun (not really during the race but that rarely happens) and I did win my age group (and a cool plastic cup!) Already thinking about signing up for another one next month, Also I cannot believe I've never been to Nashville Oktoberfest! They actually have a pretty decent set-up (almost as good as Oktoberfest in Munich, heh.) I would have loved to spend the whole day there, but I couldn't, because:

Saturday afternoon I went to Knoxville for the Oh Wonder show! We had just enough time to drive East, get ready, go to dinner at Oliver Royale (fabulous), and then to the show at the Bijou Theater. Oh Wonder was absolutely a delight, and if you haven't listened to them yet, you must! Livewire and Technicolour Beat are a couple of my favorite tracks. The Bijou Theater is a really neat little venue, and I loved getting to explore Knoxville a bit that evening and Sunday morning.

We gave a really valiant effort at trying to stop at a pumpkin patch on the way home...but it was super rainy and pumpkin patches make their own hours!

Fall is just the pumpkin spice of life, isn't it? I hope you are having a splendid October so far!

click the item name for other ways to wear it / brand to shop exact or similar!

I'm always worried about posting two outfits back to back with the same item, on the off chance that someone is reading my blog for the first time and becomes uninterested because I "always wear the same things!" Totally irrational blogging fear. No one cares, right?

Honestly though this is a great representation of life right now: this sweater which, like I promised, I've been living in, and super bright, windy, early Fall days- sweater in the morning and 85 by noon.

T-shirts, along with novelty sneaks, are one thing I keep telling myself to stop buying- I have so many, they're starting to feel less age-appropriate, I always want to wear blouses to work but hardly own any; but then I find another t-shirt that I really love and need. I mean! This shirt is: Millennial Pink, sporty, and $10.

Also- BIRKENSTOCKSSS! If you're cringing (Galina) it's ok, I am a recent convert too. I avoided them for years because growing up my parents wore them (eww.) But now I really can't believe it took me so long because they are amazing and I have been wearing them non-stop. Comfortable footwear?! What a novelty! I had to squeeze in at least one wear on the blog before "Birkenstock season" is over for the year.

I still hardly know a thing about beauty so don't take my advice (well, I do know something about the best drugstore beauty products) BUT I understand that gloss is BACK this Fall. I don't think matte lips are going anywhere soon, but just know you can rock some lipgloss like you did in middle school (I used to carry a lipgloss in my hoodie kangaroo pocket every. day.) and be totally on trend.

Ok Happy Little Friday, one and all! I am: going to dance class and dinner with Dani (speaking of middle school) tonight, which is becoming a lovely Thursday routine. Saturday morning is my race! And then I'm "jetting" off to Knoxville for a show on Saturday night. Really excited (and slightly...nervous?) about all of that! Talk to you soon!

Fuzzy & Floral

Mark my words- I will be living IN and living FOR this sweater this Fall (I am wearing it today too, actually!)

Isn't it dreamy?? I wasn't able to find it online, but H&M did have plenty in stores (in black too.) I can't get enough fuzzy sweaters. I realized that on this same shopping trip last weekend, I had also grabbed a furry vest and wondered if it was finally time for me to get into that fabled blogger trend from a few years ago (no shade- I always really wanted one.) I think fuzzy sweaters are the furry vests of 2017, in case anyone needed my opinion on that.

I broke my "no more novelty sneakers" rule (see: Donut Vans) again a few months back because Rifle Paper Co. + Keds ! I don't care if this is shattering the illusion that I'm a grown-ass-woman because they are adorable (and totally still available!)

We're still very much in the "60's in the morning, 80's in the afternoon" Fall pre-season, so a cardigan and tank dress is the perfect combination. I wore this outfit last Friday from work to office happy hour to dinner to karaoke- I sang both Linger by The Cranberries (this is one of my favorite songs of all time !!) and Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now by Starship. Again, I just want you to know the rigorous tests I put my outfits through before I share them on this blog. I can't even TELL YOU how happy I was at 1am when I realized I was so comfy because I was wearing tennis shoes and not heels. And think of the karaoke choreography!!

I really don't have anything else to tell you besides stuff about new clothes/shoes/makeup but that's why you're reading this blog right?! Cool.
