I know I've said this before, but now that I'm 27, I can really feel my style shifting. I don't follow any "fashion rules", except: age-appropriateness. This dress is case in point. There I was at Zara in Tampa, printed dresses in crazy colors far as the eye can see, and this crisp white button-down dress came home with me. But I did pair it with the most ridiculous earrings I could find (aren't these AMAZING.)
I'm not telling you to dress any certain way based on your age, that's your prerogative. I dress to feel comfortable and confident in what I wear, and part of that is just feeling "right" for the age and phase of life that I'm in. This dress feels like the perfect wear-to-work outfit for 27 year old me this Summer.
While I still haven't been able to totally get rid of my colorful college favorites, I am going over them with a fine tooth comb. It is so HARD for me to part with things I once spent money on and loved (even with Poshmark.) If you have experience with an age and style shift, I would love to hear how you've gone about it!
Since I don't have much else to say about this outfit, how about a pop culture minute?

Last week I finally finished I'll Be Gone in the Dark.
Here's my own personal recipe for disaster:
I am a) a true crime aficionado who is also b) a TOTAL wuss that c) lives alone and d) has an overactive imagination along with e) trouble sleeping as it is.
So do I abstain from true crime in hope of a better night's sleep? No! No I don't. That's the vicious cycle I'm in. The book was so well written, but, man it was a TOUGH read. But especially considering how everything has played out recently (I don't really want to get into this if you're here for the fashion and not true crime)...I had to finish it! Michelle McNamara was very talented.
For the last couple weeks, Art & I have been blazing (lol, "blazing", Art has been like is this over yet please) through The Staircase on Netlix and finally finished it last night. If anyone out there has been watching, PLEASE weigh in below!!

This title is also my monthly nod to how much I love ALL THINGS 80's! Go ahead and give this song a listen if you haven't in a while. Still bangs.
P.S. Hello from South Carolina! I'm here for the weekend for my cousin's wedding. "Going to my cousin's wedding" is a very casual, American, experience that I basically never get to have, so I'm pretty happy to be here celebrating with my parents and sister Galina. Catch you on the flip side!
