So far my holiday spirit is feeling a bit off this year - I left Nashville and real life behind on Halloween (for the entire month), and when I returned, BAM - it's Christmas!
In an effort to jumpstart myself into the holiday season, and if I'm being honest, wear all of the fun things in my closet that I missed while I was living out of a suitcase; I put together a little "holiday capsule" that's displayed on my clothing rack. It basically consists of any velvet item in my closet, along with any other luxe fabric (metallic pants!) and Christmas colors (red sweater & green pants!) I haven't been sharing a daily #ootd but I've been having a lot of fun with it! Maybe I can round up some outfit photos later.
My brocade shorts had to be included in my holiday capsule! Mine are originally from Topshop a few years ago, but I was really pleasantly surprised at how many options I found available now. Dressy shorts could be a very trendy option for any holiday fêtes on your calendar this year (I love that red pair in the widget!)
I really do think I wore this entire outfit somewhere this Fall but...I apologize, it's been a while now. I also lived in these booties for the past month!
Speaking of a jumpstart into the holiday spirit:
I made this "best christmas" playlist last year if you need it - it has the classics you actually want to listen to (no "Baby It's Cold Outside" in sight!) as well as newer holiday bops. In my very humble opinion, a good Christmas pop song or album should sound much like pop you would listen to year-round...swap in the word "Christmas" or "presents" or "tree" or "light" for "baby." Justin Bieber's Christmas album from 2011 is really hard to top, the Beach Boys Christmas album is an all time favorite of mine, and Sia's is also REALLY great.

Tonight is our annual office holiday party, and this year we're headed to a barcade that has been decorated for the season (temporarily re-named Reindeer Games.) With things a bit more casual this year - my boss bought our team matching sweaters to wear so I will be so COMFY as I enjoy heavy hors d'oeuvres. Not mad about it!
