I have posted my fair share of Valentine's Day inspired outfits on this blog over the years! It was actually a fun trip down memory lane looking at all those old posts. Well, let's call it an interesting trip. Past Valentine's Day looks right here.
I'll be honest - I would wear very few (if any?) of those outfits today! Instead of cringing when I look at them, I'm trying to think of it this way - that's personal style, baby. It changes! And it should change! I've said this before but the only style rule I really follow is wearing something that feels comfortable in the age/phase of life I'm currently in. I can feel my style shifting more than ever as I'm: pushing 30, no longer "just out of college", changing careers, getting married, etc. etc. etc.
With that in mind, I present to you: a Valentine's Day outfit I am actually happy to wear today! Mostly neutrals. You know how it is.
I picked up this teddy coat at Uniqlo when we were in Japan and I have absolutely been living in it! It's starting to look a little worn, but I will be wearing it as long as I possibly can. I've also been wearing my beloved velvet leggings a lot. Something about cold dreary weather makes comfy leggings so appealing! I think it's about time that I upgrade to a nicer pair, maybe the Spanx ones that everybody raves about. I love my Dr. Martens so much that I would love another pair! I've really been eyeing dark purple ones - true to form! I can't find this exact baby pink online right now but there is this pink that's more salmon-y, also cute. Finally, meet my newest sidekick, this circle purse I purchased from ban.do (my favoriteee) at the end of last year.
Well, Happy Valentine's Day, everyone! Any big plans? Art is getting back into town from being in San Francisco all week for work, and I'm actually volunteering tonight SO we'll be doing a Valentine-y thing tomorrow. It may or may not include Taco Bell ;) and we're getting our engagement photos taken! I can't wait to share them!
