HI! After a "new-normal-busy" Fall that turned into a rough for me personally December that ended with COVID and cancelled Christmas plans for me and Art (LARGE SEMICOLON) 2022 started off very slow and then shot out of a cannon. I was unintentionally traveling for nearly six weekends in a row, with the days in between in Nashville (however many they were, per week) crammed with (good!) normal life stuff - classes, auditions, acting work, other work, any other life thing that needed to be done, the occasional night on the couch with P&G. It was an insane month and a half ish!
After returning from Hawaii at the beginning of March, things have been moving at a slooow pace. I was initially ready and excited to level set and really focus in on "my real life", and not the wonderful but fantastical life that happens when you're traveling. I had the best of intentions of being "creatively productive", but have mostly spent the last couple weeks on one end of the emotional pendulum that is an acting career. The job unfortunately entails a whole lot of "hurry up and wait." I know that getting comfortable with being uncomfortable in this way is almost as important as any other training I can do, so, I'm working on enjoying the life that happens in between waiting for auditions and news. Therapy HELPS :)
I completely glossed over the many wonderful things that have happened so far this year, and there were many that I am grateful for! So here's where we've been so far in 2022:
In mid/end January, we visited my friend Meredith (wow lots of fun blog throwbacks here) and her husband, Steven, in Costa Rica! I'm gonna blog more about it so I'll keep this brief but we had an amazing time and it was so NICE to travel again!!
The second weekend in February took us to Southern California to meet our new 😍 twin nephews 😍 Mateo (left) and Max (right), born in November. This was some really sweet family time as we ended up staying in Oceanside with my (newly engaged!) brother Sundar. I don't get to see my three (!) nephews nearly as much as I would like, so this time is always so precious to me! Honorable mention to my friend Jacqui that we spent a brief overnight with - she has three little ones that are growing fast and I hadn't even met baby Lucca yet! It was so wonderful to see them all!
Then I tagged along with my sisters somewhat last minute to a city I'll never say "no" to, Austin TX! The weekend looked a lot like this ^ except for the part where they both ran a half marathon (I was a spectator!) We stayed at the dreamy Proper Hotel and never wanted to leave.
Next up, Kansas City! I know, this tour of the country is getting ridiculous. This was a rescheduled New Years Eve trip to hang with the soon to be Mr. & Mrs. (and our new KC "extended family" that we have come to love and enjoy so much!!) This was a fun and low-key weekend. We went to a museum! ^
And then we did a sister trip to the Big Island of Hawaii 💖 the most magical place. And I hadn't been on a trip with my sisters since I don't know when (I mean, BEFORE the two weeks prior when we went to Austin.) We boogied, drank, swam, vibed, ordered room service one night and watched the Love is Blind reunion in bed, they helped me tape an audition !! , bonds were broken & forged anew, oh, and I packed a full sized suitcase and positively reveled in my resort wear ( >> outfits and more outfits << !) And yes, I only own one swimsuit.
Anyway, that's what's been going on with me so far this year. I'm looking back at all of this and remembering that life is pretty f-ing sweet. I hope 2022 is treating you well, too!
Also! It bears noting that as of April, pretty sure, I have had this blog for ten years. My mind is blown at how much my life has changed in that time! I honestly think I will blog forever until one day I wake up and Blogger is gone, and we'll never speak of it again. Thanks for reading!
