Three items on repeat lately: my velvet mules, sailor jeans, and these outrageous statement earrings.
I almost convinced myself I didn't need the velvet mules (I have a similar pair) but I am so glad I convinced myself otherwise! These are so versatile and comfortable, but more dressed up than a pair of tennies or flats. Seriously who wears "heels" anymore? I would buy like three more pairs of mules.
My sailor jeans were a "hand-me-up" from my sister a couple years ago. I also call them my "diaper jeans" because of the flap! I only ever wear them in the Summer for some reason, but that needs to change because I love them.
These outrageous statement earrings were from Zara on my birthday trip to Florida last year (fun memory!) They are cumbersome and they do get in the way when I'm wearing them, but I've gotten so many compliments lately I don't even care. How fun are the pink flamingo pair by Kate Spade?
Also, or maybe I should have opened with, I'm 28 today! Not sure exactly how I feel about it. Birthdays just get weirder as you get older, right? When you're a kid, it's pure excitement and joy, but as you start to get older, there's always some mixed emotion. Another year gone, and what did I even do? Am I where I thought I would be? Do I have it all figured out like I thought I would? Am I one year closer to being who I want and doing what I really want? Or am I just pushing 30 - yikes?
I shouldn't be so existential and I know 28 is not old. I feel conflicted, that's the answer. Both very excited and grateful but simultaneously nervous and indifferent. I really do have a lot to be thankful for and there are some very exciting changes ahead - KEEP READING, more soon.
We're off to LA today to celebrate both Milo and my birthday (did you forget they were on the same day?? Bless you.) Jokes aside - we will be celebrating my birthday first with some adult fun and then a big party on Saturday for Milo, more on the bouncy house level. Almost my entire family will be in town and my perfect nephew is turning 1! So excited to see him.
Thanks for reading ye olde blog. Grateful for every single one of you, xoxo!
