Can I tell you a secret? I am wearing a cardigan backwards in these photos. Wild!

I think it actually worked out pretty well. Have you been watching the new season of True Detective? I've been spellbound and so, so, glad they went back to their roots with a three-timelined Southern story, like the first season. I've also been loving the outfits worn by Carmen Ejogo (Amelia, the female lead.) This outfit is somewhat inspired by the 1980 version of her - she has these fabulous brown heeled boots she wears, and I thought to myself, I have a similar pair...

I've worn my cowboy boots on & off on this blog for years, and though they may sit in my closet for a while unworn, I'll never get rid of them, because they are timeless! At least as long as I'm living in Nashville. I always tell people to look for boots at the flea market first - everywhere else they are WAY overpriced, and I love the worn-in look you get with a vintage pair.

We've been having a bit of an early Spring snap the past few days, but last week we got some truly WINTER weather, so I had a chance to break out the layers. I was marveling at how well this green coat has served me in Nashville Winters past, and even two trips to Finland! If it's truly cold where I am, you can bet I'll be wearing this coat. It really is my old faithful, and not bad for an affordable Old Navy purchase. I don't know that this parka style of coat is even really in style anymore...so eventually, I'd love to upgrade to a long puffer like this one. But! I'm not shopping right now and Winter in Nashville might be almost over for this year anyway.

I hope you all have had a good week! I've been sick with a nasty cold for the entire week, which really threw me off. So annoying when your body won't cooperate with your plans, right? Tonight (assuming I am still alive) I am going to the freaking ballet with some friends! You know I love a high-class Friday night. I'm planning to spin up a little tuxedo, and I'll try to share some pics! If it really turns out, maybe I'll do an outfit post, since things rarely get fancy around here.
