a giveaway, of sorts

Hello dear readers! So I'm not sure who (if anyone) is actually reading this, but I wanted to find a way to connect with all of you wonderful folks. So, here's the deal:

- comment on this post with your favorite kind of donut (this is just for fun, like one of those awkward get-to-know-you games we all love)
- email me with your address here: pappupa@mail.lipscomb.edu
- I will be sending you your very own, awesome vintage Donut Den postcard, with a note from me!

So even if the note from me is not appealing to you (which, ahem, I could be famous one day) the postcards are adorable and a great addition to your wall/bulletin board/cubicle/locker (if you are in Middle school..? Awk). And it makes a great Father's Day gift (jokes)!
The reason why I'm doing this is because I: love making new friends. Would love to connect with you if you're reading my blog, or otherwise. Love writing letters/postcards. Think these postcards are awesome. Realize this is free advertising for the Den.
OH and a giant promise that I WILL NOT share, print, reproduce your address, or stalk you. In fact, they will be discarded after I mail your postcard, unless we become pen pals. I realize I am a total stranger to some of you...all I can say is I am the real 21 year old Priya Pappu, currently residing in Nashville, and not, say, 65 year old Creepy McCreeperson residing in Keokuk, Iowa (no offense to Iowans because I was in The Music Man and can sing "Iowa Stubborn" by heart).

So there you have it. I'm probably too poor to have a real sponsor and or giveaway but this is as good as it gets because everyone wins! Can't wait to hear from you!!

I discovered your blog when you were on your recent Finland trip. It makes me happy, 'cause you are, and it shows through your writing. :)

You do realize making people choose a favorite donut is kinda hard, right? There are so many good ones... like raised ones with chocolate icing, or caramel icing, or cinnamon swirl donuts, or crumb, or blueberry. (I really like the blueberry donuts at Happy Donuts in Cupertino, have you been there before? Karen Armstrong introduced me to that place.) I don't go out for donuts too often as they're kind of a weakness for me, and not exactly healthy, but a good donut can totally hit the spot on a special occasion.

Easy choice for me! Chocolate frosted custard filled, all the way. Oh, yum.

Yes! Of course I want a postcard. I'm sure you'll be famous one day & I will have the postcard to prove how far back we go.

Hmmm my favourite donut? There's a donut shop near my house that has donuts with pistachios on top, which is all sorts of magnificent. And of course anything chocolate!

On my gosh, so used to be on sundays before church my stepmom would bring us a box of a dozen, assorted donuts and I would always-without-fail pick the glazed one because I discovered that when you stick it in the microwave for about 10 secs and bite into it, the feeling you get is unparalleled. That thing just dissolves in your mouth in the best possible way and causes you to only think kind thoughts of people for the next few hours. Seriously, don't let anybody tell you that glazed donuts are vanilla. That is a lie!

I always used to be just a tad skeptical when bloggers would talk about developing these friendships with other bloggers (and sometimes they haven't even met in person yet). But I think now, this is happening... (maybe it's too soon -- yeah, it probably is. But I'm just so pleased I can't help voicing it. Haha). :-)

Joanne, thank you for your kind words, and for reading my blog! I've looked at yours a few times and love the pictures of your sweet (and active!) family, and the stuff about Jeremy running too! I think I was a bit outdated with the family news, because I didn't know you have 4 little ones! I still remember when Ada was born!

Anyway, thanks for participating, be checking your mail, and maybe I should have said list your Top 5 favorite donuts? Haha I have never been to Happy Donuts (I could lose my job at Donut Den) but I should check it out next time I'm home!

Last week when I went into the Den for the first time in over a month, that was the first thing I grabbed! That'll put you in a coma for sure! We call those eclairs, people also say long-johns. Thanks Steph! You can expect something in the mail soon!

That's definitely one of the more interesting donuts I've ever heard of! Can't say we have those at the Den. Thanks for believing in me Chloe, you can be expecting a postcard soon :)

Karen, you would not believe the things I've heard at the Den. People say "original", "glazed", "normal", "sugared", "vanilla", "classic" for GLAZED! And all I can say is "Yes." I am all over glazed donut holes. When I get there in the morning and they are freshly made and warm...there's nothing better. Glazed donuts would be the equivalent of that, just a little bigger. Go girl
