weekend update: orange

Well it's the start of a new week, and I'm just keeping it festive over here, October style. Wearing UT orange, celebrating Orange October (go Giant's!), and baking cupcakes with orange frosting.
Hunter never really comments on what I wear, unless I'm wearing my game day shirt. And then he says "You look goooood."
I loved getting to hang out with my best friend(s) this weekend. Or I should say, SOME of them. The big smiles here are thanks to a lot of laughing before and after this picture.

And I got to bake this weekend, finally, which I was so jazzed about.
"Thank you for our table" pumpkin bread. Two birds! Because this is off my fall date list! But to be perfectly honest...a certain boyfriend fell asleep on the couch while I was baking this. Soo, fall date with myself.
Also, while I'm going true confessions here, this bread is probably a 2 out of 5 stars legit, because I used Trader Joe's boxed pumpkin bread mix. I so badly wanted to like, pick a pumpkin, carve it out, and use the pulp (?) to bake. Didn't happen. But I have pumpkin cinnamon rolls on my mind.
I'd like to introduce you to red velvet cupcakes with orange cream cheese frosting, for Bosses' Day at the office! Umm, they were amazing.

In other news, I rode my bike through a thorny bush the other day and now I have a fierce scratch on my face. I call it my "Fight Club scar." Feeling pretty hardcore.

Also, have I mentioned I have not one, not two, but THREE lines in Pajama Game?! Look out! I get to say "Me for the baseball!" "Hey kids, guess what? Mr. Hasler's playing first base and he's so funny!" and "Oh I'm sorry!" Yeah, pretty much taking over the show.

Here's to this FOUR DAY week (Friday is Fall Break, perfect for another fall date!)

hahaha I love this! This is so funny because I was thinking about baking pumpkin bread today. I of course...didn't!...but it's on my "list." I love the pics of you with your friends. You look so cute! Oh, and I love the "battle" pic. hahahaha

i always liked being the small roles in the play like that. having minimal lines is best to me. and your battle scar is adorable - but that does suck.

Those cupcakes look and sound sooo good (and is that a chinese takout container I spot there? I do that too!) Yay for game day! My alma mater was on a bye last week so now I am doubly excited for our game this weekend. You and your boy look so cute together in that first pic!
