So this week has turned out to be totally wacky! Productivity rates are low, ice rates are high; I'm going on probably my 100th cup of tea, and going through all my fuzzy socks as well. When you're thrown into a weird situation like, "the city is shut down, come into work if you can", things feel very strange indeed. Today is my first full-day back at work since...one week ago, Thursday, actually!
One thing I know for sure--I'm READY to be back in warm weather like this past weekend! No layers, bare legs, short sleeves?! Seems like a cruel joke now.

I wore this outfit this past Saturday in Austin, when it was 80 degrees (!?) and we walked around the whole city. I knew at some point during the trip we would be doing some serious adventuring (Peanut is a San Franciscan and <3's to walk) so I made sure to pack an outfit that was comfy and cute. This is usually the hardest part of packing for a trip, because truth be told, I'd rather be in running shorts and a t-shirt. Especially if there's a possibility of riding a bike.
This dress worked out to be comfortable for nearly every activity (didn't end up riding bikes) including hiding a Torchy's Tacos food baby. I opted for tennis shoes over flats since I knew we'd be doing a lot of walking. I've had these Urban Outfitters plimsolls for going on four years now? They've totally earned their keep, and I've nearly worn through the sole. Not bad for a $15 pair of shoes.
One last note about the cold: I have now experienced a new low temperature in Nashville (and, in life) a WHOPPING 1 degree. Wind chills as low as -14, so fun! Wtf, Nashville. I will not complain this Summer. I will not complain this Summer.

I have to ask: how do you know you get a snow day? Does your boss email you letting you know not to come in? I've always wondered what the protocol is for snow days. I don't have a job I have to report to so I'm at a complete shock when I hear about bloggers having snow days where they get to stay at home.
Ok moving on. Gosh I can't remember what 80 degrees feels like! I was supposedly only 46 yesterday but the sun here is so intense that it actually felt warm without a coat! Even when I went back to Cali it was only 70 one day. Super jealous. Such a cute dress by the way. Perfect outfit for a day of walking!
Wow, the weather there sounds truly grey!!! I'm kind of jealous that you had a weekend hot enough for bare legs already but on the other hand at least the cold, grey climate London has is constant and I have no need to break out the thermals (I'm just asuming you broke out the thermals?). I'm wistful for that 80 degrees though!! Soooo hot! xx
great color on you. We have warmer weather here too on the west coast of BC but almost not warm enough for bare legs.. soon hopefully. You look so cute in this outfit :)
Totally agree! Walking to the grocery store yesterday and a huge tree icicle fell a couple feet ahead of me, it was so big it looked like it could've sliced me in two! (an exaggeration, but I'm over it) Bring me back my nice Nashvillian weather please! Looking cute in your throwback outfit tho!

I'm just sitting over here weeping and looking at my fluorescent legs while you are darker than I ever have been in my liffeeeee.
That dress is adorable!! The color is so cute on you! Why couldn't it have been 80 degrees when I was there?! It was 35 degrees when I left NY and 35 degrees there! It's supposed to be -2 degrees tonight. No joke! I think I forgot what warm weather feels like! :)

I am so longing for Spring too. Lucky you that you got the chance to escape to Austin for the weekend! You look really cute in your favorite color :)
Have a wonderful day dear Priya and thank you a lot for your last comment!
xx
Girl, you better never move to Nebraska! I've seen 1 degree and lower more times than I want to even think about. It's really brutal when the high for the day is below zero and then I just want to give up. And I know it's even worse further north. I could never ever ever live in Minnesota or Wisconsin! Anyway, 80 degrees in Austin sounds glorious! Your outfit looks perfect for walking around, looking good and staying comfortable!
Okay, there's almost nothing better than a fit and flare t-shirt dress. I think I need like 14 of these for the summer...
Our COO typically emails the whole company once we know about weather issues that will affect everyone! But it's one of those things we don't hear about until the morning of, so it's always a fun little surprise :)
Oh no! You were so brave to even walk outside in it haha
Girlllllll haha
I don't know how you survive, seriously! Thanks Andi, it ended up being a pretty perfect 'fit!
Agreed!!
